In the early hours of Monday, August 5, at around 2:30 am, a military helicopter departed from Bangabhaban with Sheikh Hasina on board. Sources indicate that the helicopter transported them to West Bengal, India. This significant development comes amidst escalating political tensions within the country.
Director of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Shammi Ahmed confirmed to the BBC that Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman is currently engaged in discussions with leaders of all political parties to resolve the ongoing crisis. Additionally, news agency AFP reported that Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana were moved to a safe location from Ganobhaban.
